About Us
Mission
KMF will focus the voice of consumers demanding reform of our health care system. We will create a virtual community that can lead and influence the change process from a position of information, analysis and principle.
Vision
In 2012 KMF will be a highly influential and respected non profit, will have 10 million members and will be the leading voice of the consumer in demanding reform of the health care system. Our principles of AFFORDABILITY, TRANSPARENCY and ACCESS will help structure and guide public and private debate on health care reform. Our legal team will be formed and active in litigating for specific change on behalf of individual consumers. Our Education Outreach activity, and our view of the current health care system, will be influential in shaping the public debate.
In 2012 the public and the political leadership will view the health care needs of the country in a different context and will assign the highest priority to study and implementation of change. KMF will continue to champion the underlying principles, provide education to members concerning all proposed changes, evaluating each carefully for adherence to the principles that guide our organization.
Outreach and Organization
In 2012 KMF will have:
- Created a very large community of consumers that are mobilized, as a group, to participate and guide the rebuilding of a world class health care system for the United States.
- Forged alliances with the medical community to support improvements in patient communications that increase patient participation and patient responsibility in the diagnosis and treatment processes.
- Developed a set of analytical tools, including a value added economic model for the analysis of current and future health care systems.
- Initiated an ACLU like legal organization that is chartered to seek and bring health care cases that clearly define consumer rights in the health care system.
- Increased the value of the KMF brand and will be recognized as a source of critical thinking, principled information and clear simple analysis of health care issues and structures.
By 2010 the Board of Directors of KMF will include "thought leaders" from the medical, media, political, business and philanthropic communities. The staff will be highly efficient and able to effectively implement the visions and goals of the leadership.
All participants will have a detailed understanding of the Vision, Mission, Strategy and Tactics guiding the organization. The Organization will be lean and flat with open communication being part of the culture.
