Why Join
Today's health care system has grown so complex and self serving that it no longer serves the patient: Costs are out of control, the quality of care is inadequate, and access is inhibited. These inefficiencies are a drag on our economy and our quality of care.
- On average we spend $7500 for each man woman and child. Where does it go?
- The real cost of care, at the physician level, is estimated to be $2500. What happens to the rest of the money?
- Our US health care system ranks 34th in the world. Is that good enough?
Join us as we understand what we have today, set a direction and move toward change. Collectively, our voices can fuel a national debate and create real reform.
We can build a great health care system, it is within our capability. Imagine health care that is easily available, less costly and based on a clear understanding costs, alternatives and treatment success rates.
We must understanding the current system and be clear about why it no longer serves the public. KMF, will educate on the economics of the current system and share our understanding in simple messages. With your help, those messages can be used to frame both public and private debate on health care.
Our all important first step is to organize your voice, create a strong unified "voice of the consumer". Our mission is to clarify the shortcomings of today's system, and support development of a different system that is Affordable, Accessible and Transparent.
We need four things from every member of KMF:
- Your ideas and experiences that will make our effort better
- Your energy to lobby for change. We can provide tools but we need your voice to be heard.
- Your help to spread the word and get others involved. We need a virtual community of members.
- Your donation. Our simple objective at KMF is to collect $5 for each man woman and child in America.
Creating a virtual crusade
A virtual community coordinated through our website is critical to success. The site links our Members together and connects them to a common agenda. Through the web site you can post your experiences with health care and make your stories part of the fabric of our effort. Using our web tools you can easily write your congressional leaders and ask them to make changing health care a priority. Through the web you can share with others and get them involved in KMF.
Supporting KMF
Our objective is to fund the effort of KMF through small individual donations. Larger donations will help accelerate our activity, so please be an active part of re-inventing our health care.
